Welcome to my kitchen!
I’m Sharmila. I was born in Mumbai and now live in LA with my husband and two boys. My older son wishes ‘orange chicken’ was the national dish of India and as for my younger son, he could easily be featured on ‘Bizarre Foods’ or something! So while I cook to cater to two opposite ends of the taste spectrum, this site is about – Mostly Indian Cooking!
While curry is what defines Indian cuisine, there is so much more to Indian food than curry. Or Chicken tikka masala! It is my goal to share the classics but also introduce the regional cuisines of India. Indian food can be simple. I have recipes that you can cook using just one Indian spice from your regular supermarket, and others that may require a trip to your local Indian grocery store. It’s up to you:-)
I hope you browse through my recipes, drool a bit and ultimately feel encouraged to do some goood Indian Cooking!
Thanks for stopping by….
